3 reasons: 1 - The motor seems to barely have enough torque to get the job done... It sounds like it is about to burn out. 2 - The rod does not have a handle (as does the Weber) so a hot pad is needed to remove it from the grill. 3 - the screws that hold the screws in place need to be tightened with pliers or else the meat tends to slide around

This is a well constructed rotisserie just like the Saber Grill. I had no difficulties loading it with two hearty chickens. I also have also done large sized pork roasts. The all stainless construction makes it easy to wash and clean up the parts after each use.
