Filled with water. Heavy and just what we needed. The legs of the umbrella fit in the cross spade of the weights perfectly.

We absolutely would not be without this weight. It was easy to fill with water and appears to hold the umbrella through some fairly stiff breezes!

We bring this out each summer and drain it each fall. So easy and is perfect for our large umbrella. Stacks up nice for easy storage

Keep in mind this base is going to take up significant floor space but it is 100% necessary if you actually want to open the cantilever umbrella and have it stay upright.
