A winner! Had been looking for a water dish that would be easy to clean. This solved my problem - the bottom lid is threaded and comes off completely allowing for thorough cleaning!! No more algae growing or impossibly narrow openings to try and navigate a sponge. Pups love it too!

We didn't need the extra piece to elevate the bowl — we have a tiny 10-pound toy poodle — I merely wanted a pet waterer that had a small but visible reservoir. We had been using regular watering bowls but we couldn't always tell when the bowl was empty unless we bent over and gave it a close inspection. This waterer gives us a little buffer because the water level is visible from a bit of distance.

I like the way the Automatic water dish looks. Directions were easy to understand. The water dish was easy to assemble. We are using automatic water dish for our cats so we don't need the piece to make it sit up higher but it is a good idea for larger animals. I recomend this product.

The water bowl works considering my cat loves to drink out of the sink. My only concern is that the water sit and makes the bowl slimy. It will have to be changed daily if used for cats. My digs tend to drink a lot more so it seems it would be better for dogs.
