Great rug with long pile but not dense. The pattern is nicer from a little ways away. Close up, the pattern isn't as distinguishable. It's going to be moved to the bedroom because it's not dense enough to hold up in the play area. Does shed but not a lot. Kids do enjoy pulling the threads out like grass
