The awning is great so far. We have 12*10 size. We added this on our deck on vinyl sliding.. needed to find the stud and used ledger-lock instead of given screws ( as those can only be used in brick).. looks pretty solid, will have to see how it holds in wind.. Shipping is relatively slower than most, it I guess as expected for large, oversized items. Ordered 3/26, shipped on 4/8, arrived at a Wayfair delivery site on 4/10, and is supposed to be delivered on 4/12. After researching reliability vs. ease of installation vs. price, I decided on the Heritage Patio. Cannot wait to install this weekend. Will update as to ease of installation, overall look, and functionality. After I received via shipping: Pros: Economical, good, solid awning for the price. Relatively easy to assemble, although it would held tremendously to have additional help! Looks great once assembled. Cons: Why did I undertake this project by myself? I am relatively handy, and it took approximately 12 hours to assemble by myself. The directions are garbage. The pictures are useless, often showing something different than what is being referenced. There are sometimes multiple names for the same piece of material that you must figure out. These overlap perfectly, yet the last roof panel was about 6” too wide, and had to be cut. You are supposed to be able to snap roof panels together. NO way, especially standing on an 8 ft ladder. I had to spend about 10 minutes each roof panel, bending one of the sides all the way down the length of the panel, just so it would snap into place. The directions are very vague about heights and measuring for poles, where it can and cannot be placed, etc... the directions showed included materials that included a masonry bit, later on, it shows masonry but not included. Directions also call all small screws, under 2”, sheet metal screws, and you must figure out which screw goes with which particular step you are on. Overall Impression: be prepared to study directions for a day or two and familiarize yourself with all the parts before attempting to assemble! This will save you time in the long run! Overall, after reading other reviews about length of time and help for assembly, I am glad the length of time was only 12 hours. Issues started right away with the amount of plastic used to ship this item. Yikes. Less plastic in the future would be super ideal. The next issue I noticed was the stitch used was simple and not at all weatherproof that Id think would be on this. If you have a sewing machine then it would be a easy fix to put stronger stiches into it, if not well youd have to pay someone or I fear this will last maybe a summer. Onto instructions lol maybe it was an off day for me because I hate to admit that I took much longer trying to figure out if I was missing something on the last step in step four than normal. Also, the the long black plastic stuck is the tread. I thought it would have been stronger material. Lastly I do not have any pictures of it up yet because when I hired someone to put it up I was informed I needed a permit to have it put up!! So crazy so Im going to be looking into that and Ill update if Wayfair allows me to. So far Id buy this for a temporary type outdoor upgrade. Time will tell if its Florida weather safe.. Kimberly. Though the patio roof is awesome-the installation was NOT!! WOW, COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE BLINDED BY INCORRECT INFO ON WAY FAIR HANDYMAN PART!!
