I would classify this as a luxury firm mattress. I have back issues and need a firm mattress, but hate how they hurt my hips when laying on my side. This mattress you do not have that. It has a nice layer of cushion on top that settles into a firm mattress. I bought two, one for the spare and one for the master and couldn't be more pleased. Especially for the price! Check out reviews for this mattress online - they're all 5 star! It took about 12 hours to puff up enough to sleep on( the pic is from about 10 hours after opening), and within 2 days was at full inflation. This is an amazing bed I’ve had this bed since November of 2022 , I’m writing this review in March 2023. I sleep beautifully every night no aches or pains when I wake up. There’s no issues with a dip or anything we lay at different spots during naps and stuff and that helps. The major problem I have with this bed …… if you are sweaty or have BO issues, do NOT get this bed . The sweat and stench gets trapped in the bed and it feels ruined. I use baking soda to help deodorize it but it just seems like the moisture and bacteria is trapped . I use a mattress protect also. Otherwise you’ll love this bed it’s the best bed for your back it contours and I used. A coupon site and got free shipping so look around for coupons when making purchase.. Amazingly quiet motor, all metal build, and the remote lights up (but only the LCD part - the buttons themselves are difficult to read in low light) and has worked flawlessly. Doesn't creak at all. It's a hair smaller than the queen mattress so that it the whole mechanism can fit inside any bed frame that has removable inner boxspring support rails. It's got a great supportive surface for a memory foam mattress. The metal legs have three sections that can allow you to adjust the height. My pics show it with a 14" mattress purchased from here as well, and with I adjusted the height so that the top of the 14" thick mattress was either 25" or 28" tall, with the bottom clearance beneath the bed either 7.5" or 10" (which is pretty high and allows my robot vacuum to get beneath it, something it can't do under my other beds). Knowing this now, I'd have bought a 12" thick mattress so that the bed is 23" tall since many nightstands are that height. I'd recommend another set of hands to carry it in and assemble it. Instructions are straightforward. It arrived with a slight gouge in the top surface due to a gash in the box, but is hidden by the mattress. The box it arrived in was heavy and unwieldy for the shippers, so i believe that it should be split into two boxes since the bed, in the box, already is in two equal size pieces that you bolt together for assembly.).
