The first desk took us about 5 hours, and even knowing exactly what we were doing, the second still took about 4 hours. I would absolutely recommend having two people, plenty of space, and a whole lot of patience. That being said, the instruction manual was surprisingly clear and helpful. There are simply a LOT of pieces and steps involved. Once assembled, though Worth it. They look like much more expensive pieces of furniture and completely transformed our homeschool room. I especially love all of the drawers, cabinets, shelving, and built-in desktop outlets. If you’re willing to survive the assembly process, I highly recommend them. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this computer desk! It arrived quickly and was fairly easy to assemble. You will definitely need two people to be able to install the top hutch part. It’s quite heavy. Not only should you have two people, but it should be similarly tall people who are fairly strong as you have to lift it up onto pegs. I decided to only put one of the door on the top because I want to place decorative items in the other spaces. My only complaint is that the stickers it comes with to cover up the screws are not of a enough thickness to cover up the darkness of the screw, which does make it look kind of cheap when you’re up close. I’m hoping it won’t be very noticeable once I get items on the desk. Overall, it’s a great piece of furniture if you’re looking for a larger computer desk and I would recommend it!. Cori. The drawers open smoothly but they do make slight sound as it sort of scrapes along the metal. The drawers don’t have stoppers so COULD fall on toes BUT they’re so deep that I can’t imagine that happening. We do plan to remedy that in some way because it for our 7yo son, but not necessary for older kids or adults. chair opening is very large which makes it nice for widercrossed-legged chairs. This desk is an excellent value at this price point. Pressed wood, but looks realistic enough. It’s quite solid and well made. It does take quite a bit of time to put together but I wouldn’t say it was hard. The directions had a lot of detail and were simple to follow. I put it together mostly alone over two days (desk one day, hutch the next). My only complaint is the picture on Wayfair is misleading in color. It is not a true grey as I had hoped. We spray painted metal towers and covered shelves with white wood grain contact paper to lighten up this dark set. Quite easy to put together with two people with half stands propped on ottoman. Did put together top and bottom with holes facing wrong way and had to remove and flip one bottom tower so that joining screws found holes. Very wobbly and definitely anchored to wall on either side.
