It is sturdy, lays flat against the opening but the black color on the screen wore off in some spots after the very first fire as you can see from the attached pictures. To me it doesn’t matter because this is an outdoor fireplace but it would bother me if it was indoors and I was looking at it on a daily basis. Otherwise I’m satisfied with the product.. Anonymous. If I rated on looks alone I would give it a 5 star review but based on the craftsmanship I have to give it a three star. The door handles are uneven and one of the front braces was not perpendicular to the screen. The doors are very beautiful but I feel the craftsmanship could have been far better. Robin. It is a very nice screen but not without its flaws. First, (and this part I like) it is NOT COPPER. It is OIL RUBBED BRONZE. Thanks to other reviews and a call to Plow&Hearth I got exactly what I wanted. But if you want true copper, this is not. Second, the gaps around and between the two doors are slightly uneven (but I'm probably the only one that will notice). Otherwise I really like it. It fits close to the fireplace wall, is true to size (fits the opening perfect) and the feet do a great job of preventing it from tipping forward when you open the doors. I have a natural, uneven stone hearth and it sits on it evenly without any wobble. The back feet were not needed at all. I love the way it looks and I love the Bronze (not copper) color!!.. Tina.
