I was looking for some small glass bowls for cooking to hold chopped herbs, spices, etc. I also wanted something small that could be used for ice cream or pudding. We eat a lot of desserts. The bowls are plain enough to mix and match with other patterned dishes. They are a beautiful deep bright blue but in my opinion they are not quite a rich dark cobalt blue color as said in the description, but still very nice.
