KOBE Range Hoods' CH22 Series 36-Inch wall mount range hood is a hands-free fully auto range hood! It is compatible with all brands of gas ranges. The hood is built-in with a flame and temperature sensor that the hood will automatically turn on and adjust the speed level while cooking and turn off after cooking. Our exclusive ECO Mode uses very little power to turn the fan on QuietMode for 10 minutes every hour to refresh the air.

  • Maximum Air Movement (CFM): 680cubic feet per minute
  • Exhaust Vent Location: Top
  • Power Source: Hardwired
  • Maximum Sones: 7sone

Even with a few "wishes" this is a pretty great range vent overall. Frankly, the price differences between various range hoods is pretty astonishing to me. You can go from $100 to $4000 in a blink and, without hands on, it's hard to know what you really will get for the extra cost. We got this at a decent discount from MSRP. With this vent hood there is a pretty cool feature that I must say we felt was worth paying a little more for: Automation. With a gas range, it really does respond instantly and the fan starts up and lights come up as soon as you turn the dial on your gas range. A few cons, not something to compel me to return it but that I simply wish were slightly better: When it firs turns on automatically, the fan is very low. Seems to me it should start higher to get the first burst of gas exhausted out of the area? Secondly, because the fan's rate is based on temperature and not smoke detection, keep in mind you could have a very smoky cook job underway and it won't spin up as fast as you might like (to, say, avoid setting off a smoke alarm). Overall I still like what we got and we'll stick with it and adjust so that it does do its job every single time (this seems quite possible in spite of my complaints). Doesn't solve all problems but certainly the automation helps. In terms of appearance, it's simple and beautiful. And ZERO configuration was required out of box for it to do its automation work the very first time we tried it. I love that. So not perfect -- but pretty nice.. Martin.
