It’s perfect for our basement! It heats up the second floor even if we crank up the temp. For how many btu‘s it pumps out, for the price, and the quality it’s amazing truly!! We looked for a long time for something that our cat couldn’t put her paws in as well as our baby . The front protective screen is great because it’s enough that the heat comes through and the flames still show well, but also, no little figure or thing can be passed through into the actual flame. Starting out , I received it in good condition. Box was in good shape. Wayfair shipped it very quickly . I had it professionally installed. They installed a propane line under the house and hooked it up. I had the optional sediment trap put on it. It took a while to get it going due to air in the line but it ran great once going. It's still warm outside so this is only an initial review. We will see how it holds up in the long run. It appears and feels heavy duty and should last many years with proper maintenance. My first purchase from Wayfair. They are now on my purchasing radar. Update : I started reading articles that were negative to ventless fireplaces. You'd think they were death fireplaces according to some. Some were written by dealers of vented fireplaces. I have a kidde CO detectors but it's limited. So the articles got me paranoid so I went and bought a nice real time CO detector (UEI). It does real time detection from 0 to 1000 ppm. My fireplace is putting out 0 to 1 ppm. It toggled back and forth between 0 and 1. Safe living space levels are considered 0 to 8 ppm. Obviously this is a safe unit. Buy the proper size unit for your space , have it professionally installed , keep it maintained and have CO detectors. This is the key to be safe. It's getting colder now so I've been able to use it.
