I bought this set because of how many pots come with it. I love that I get 3 sauce pots! They stack great, are lightweight, and look really nice. The lids are shallow so they can stack upright in a drawer and don't take up very much space. The bottom is smooth and coated which is a plus because the dishwasher doesn't dull the bottom of the pan, however I have noticed that it is doing it to the top rim of the pans. They are starting to get that dull rainbow look from the dishwasher. So these pans can go it the dishwasher but they will last longer if they are hand washed. The lids are vented on 2 sides. I wish they only vented on one side or the top because when you have 4 things going on the stove at once that's 8 spots where steam comes out! I was excited when we received the set. I have to admit it took some getting used to, cooking with these is a bit different than cooking with the nonstick pans we normally have. I would recommend seasoning the pans before using, it helps to avoid sticking. I have many pans, of all makes, shapes and sizes. Some will last for several generations. But as we all know, nonstick pans are not that durable, so I've learned my lesson about spending a small fortune on high end nonstick cookware. Having said that, these two Tramontina skillets are excellent. They are truly nonstick, and yet they do something other nonstick pans can't do: brown salmon fillets ( and chops ). I couldn't believe the lovely bronze finish of my fish, something heretofore was only possible in either my cast iron skillet or my French blue steel pans. Absolutely amazing !
