Ultimately this light and fan function well. The light output is great; it really worked well in my master bedroom closet. I can’t rate this five star because the instructions and installation were borderline dangerous. Allow me explain. Firstly, the fan does not install using a standard junction box, it wants you to screw it directly into the ceiling (see attached image for reference), which in itself is not only odd, but seemed less safe than the mounted box for stabilizing a fan. Then the screw and anchors included were absolutely junk, PLEASE DO NOT use them! We replaced with thicker anchors and longer screws. Next, according to the instruction manual “Don’t install the fan light, put it flat and check the product function firstly” -Well how the heck do I check the function without installing it? The rest of the Function Test is in an included photo, see if you can make sense of it yourself. Bet you can’t, it’s just confusing. We figured out what they meant, but there must have been a better way to communicate it. The next issue was the wiring instructions. They mention a brown wire and blue wire, but nope, my wires are black and white, so that didn’t make sense, and there was no ground connection at all. Lastly, the remote control does not come with the battery. Normally not a big deal because everyone has a battery drawer, but it’s not a normal battery, it’s a size 23A. Who has those laying around? There is no mention of the size in the item description either so there is no way to be prepared for this before purchase. Oh, and the app has two stars. Not great.
