This was put together out of the box which is great. Very sturdy and great quality. It fit well on the top of the dresser. There are tools to secure it to the dresser but I don't know how. It slides around fairly easily on top of the dresser without it luckily for me I haven't had to worry cause I have my dresser/changing table neatly shoved into a section of the wall.. Antoinette.
