The handle looks very sturdy and I am yet to use this product for steaming veggies .Any Stainless steel with strong base is always a relief when it comes to constant use for various steaming ,boiling and one pot cook purpose tasks. This is a nice set although the metal is somewhat thin. I would have given more stars except the pans were shoved together so tightly so it would fit into the box that I needed help to take them apart and was left with dents where the handles had been squashed together..
