I was in the market for a full size mattress and I think it was love at first sight. It had everything I was looking for especially for a side sleeper with shoulder and hip pain. I’m young so I knew I was in need of a new mattress and did my research and found the one for me and at half the price! Simply an amazing mattress (it was still decompressing but it is at 12.5”) also purchased a “Plain Waterproof Protector Deep Pocket Fitted Hypoallergenic Mattress Cover by JML“ it fits like a glove. This review is for the Serta Perfect Sleeper 14" Ultra Plush Hybrid Mattress. I noticed that a lot of reviews here mentioned different names. I am a side/back sleeper. I'd say probably about 50/50. So I need something soft but supportive. I currently own a hybrid pillow top mattress similar to this from the other 5 letter big brand that starts with an S. Which cost me double what I paid for this Serta and was ok at first, but lately has become very uncomfortable for some unknown reason despite the fact that the mattress is in like new condition, has no sags and is about 2 years old. I did a LOT of research while trying to find a good affordable mattress. This mattress has great reviews all across the board and mattress experts have great things to say about it so I had big hopes and was looking forward to a great night of sleep. I placed my order and the estimated delivery date was 2+ weeks out. However, it arrived about a week earlier. Wayfair uses a 3rd party delivery service that was great. It got delivered to my door thanks to COVID19 and I, 5'4" had to drag this beast to the bedroom all by myself. It fit perfectly on my existing platform bed. No smaller, no bigger. Just right. I could tell as soon as I laid on it that is was much firmer than I expected. I also noticed that tag says "Plush", not Ultra Plush. I called Wayfair worried that I might have received the wrong mattress and sent a picture of the tag as proof. I decided to give it a few days and see how I liked the mattress. After researching, I realized Serta has no Ultra Plush, so that's misleading advertising right there. If you go to their website you'll see. See attached picture. As the days passed the mattress has gotten a little softer. As recommend by experts, I crawl on top of the mattress whenever I remember to help "break it in". Although the mattress has become softer, I have yet to have a great night of sleep. More than likely this mattress is going back. I keep waking up with a sore back and in pain. Motion transfer is great. The mattress also has great support on the lower back area, which is amazing. It's the rest of my back that hurts. I really wanted to love this mattress but is not working for me. I decided to purchase my next mattress from Wayfair because of the 100 night sleep trial.
