Definitely not bug proof, at least half inch space around the edges. Letting in flies. The floor and sides (wood) is flimsy, very weak. Not happy with this purchase.

Bug proof? It would be if it had included some way of sealing up the gaps along the sides and top where it meets the house siding and window. Floorboards quickly sagged when they separated from support slats (we have fat cats), adding some metal straps from the hardware store on the ends of the support straps resolved that issue.

I think it is more a cat balcony. Came exactly as described and easy to set up. There are gaps when the side screens are put in so we used the two sided sticky foam to seal it. We also decided to make a platform for it rather than affix to the wall and with a bit of lumber and engineering it works well. Thanks.

I just got it and have not set up yet but can’t wait to. I’m sure it will be awesome. I’ll let you know when we get it set up. Update well this is not made very strong. We had to reinforce everything. Made new brackets to hold it. Had one screw completely crack the wood. So had to fix that. Finally got it up and I must say my kitties love it so far. I did have to use some duck tape to seal openings so that the bugs couldn’t get in. It’s a little bit smaller than I thought it would be but it’s okay. I just happen to have two Mainecoon cats so they are bigger.
